Restorative Yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. Only seated postures will be explored in this workshop. The holding time for postures will be 5 minutes each and will be for the first hour of this class.

Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation whilst lying down in Savasana. This will be held after the Restorative practice for 45min. All levels welcome

More about Justine Barnes:

"I was aware of the beauty of the mind body connection during my years of dancing and yearned to take it to a deeper level.  I began exploring yoga asana over 20 years ago, and was very deeply drawn to the essence of the practice: the breath.  It was through the understanding of the breath that I began to experience presence in my practice.  This is the essence of my approach to teaching.

I have been fortunate enough to have trained with some powerful and inspiring teachers:  Jim Harrington, Jacqueline Ivory, Tamsin Sheehy, Sharlene Rofail, Patrick Creelman, Ana Forest, Laruga Glasser, Mikko Seppinen, Tarik Thami , Sharon Gannon and David Life, Hamish Hendry, David Swenson, Simon Borg-Olivier, Yvonne de Kock, Anna Laurin.

I have endless gratitude for all the teachers that have shared with me, but my main inspiration and learning comes from my mat.  It is here that I have experienced, at the deepest level, that this practice is therapeutic and deeply transformative. I enjoy teaching a hybrid of all the different styles that I have practiced and trained in.  I teach restorative, yin, ashtanga vinyasa, vinyasa flow, pre natal, yoga nidra and basic pranayama and meditation."
